The Gospel, the Nichols, and Ecuador

Blessings from Conocoto, Ecuador!

On Tuesday, June 14, 2011, our family saw the culmination of a long series of miracles and the beginning of another series yet to unfold, as we boarded a plane in Birmingham with bags in hand to head to Quito, Ecuador, to begin life there for making disciples in another context/culture of His world.

We believe that this is yet another step in seeing the fulfillment of God's highest use of our lives. In the days ahead we hope to do two things: one is to tell more of God's grace story in our family to this point, and the other is to ask you to pray along with us as you look in the window of our world.

We are so thankful for our friends and families, and for our faith family called The Church at Brook Hills, from who we tearfully yet joyfully depart from for now in order to obey God's stirring in our hearts for the sake of His name in every nation.

  1. Oh how we are praying for you! It was hard, this past Sunday looking at the place where you normally sit in worship. We do miss you! But, judging from the picture, obedience looks great on all of you! We praise God for your life here and the" heartprints" you left on all of us, and we know He will use you for His glory there in Ecuador! We are excited for the people and wait with sweet expectation to hear of His great works! Love to all of you!

  2. After reading your blog, I see God's amazing grace in your family! Barry and I also missed both of you this past Sunday! We discussed having a "packing meeting" to help get some of the supplies that were requested and a debriefing meeting in July when members of our class return from the trip! May God encourage your daily and give your family the wisdom, strength and understanding to carry out God's will in order to give Him the glory!
